Valleys and Mountains: Reflections on Duality from Starnberger Lake, Germany

28 June 2015

Starnberger-ChucksEven on a seemingly still lake, waves agitate and froth.
Struggles.
Struggle is life.
Iridescent pools shimmer and we think
“how beautiful” but
what goes on in the darkest icy pools
beneath
the sun-kissed surface?
What murderous rage between fowl & fish,
woman and God?
How do I find your reflection if I keep sinking?
If the waters keep moving?
How will I feel you if the icy depths numb my skin?
I look to the horizon.
Hope is my salvation.

Ebb & flow.
Up & down.
Light & dark.
Nature & industry.
This is the design of life.
Life must contain death.
Duality is
Law.
